I’ve been toying with the idea of setting up a blog for quite some time, and I finally figured it was the best way for me to organize myself if I ever want to put together a book one day.  Self-publishing on the web is still a very interesting concept for me.  Once I decided I was going to set up a blog, I discovered that there are even sites where you can publish your own books and get paid when people download or order printed copies!  Since I only have ideas floating around in my head right now, I’m hoping getting back into a daily writing ritual will get me to put more things down in print so they don’t just float away into the ether.

Setting up the blog wasn’t too difficult, but choosing a name was an entirely different matter.  I’ve settled on Whisking on Pens & Needles for now, as my obsessions at the current moment tend to be in the kitchen (whisking), on the written word (pen), and knitting (needles).  Once I get a handle on these templates a little more I am hoping to have a few different sections on here with recipe tests, restaurant reviews (perhaps with a special subsection for the infamous NJ diner reviews), book reviews, and knitting projects.  As I also believe that pictures are worth a thousand words or more, I’ll try to post a few of those too
