I’ll admit it. I am filled to the brim most days. Finding this website this afternoon (just before I opened the tax bill) did not help my current state of agitation at all. Here she is … this 27 year old … living in Paris … living a life I so wish [...]

I just opened our tax bill for 2007. I want to wretch. We have NO children in public school, where 47.16% of the tax money goes to …. and our tax bill is $7,441.24. It was bad enough when it was in the $6K range. This I just cannot deal with.

I’ve been sitting here thinking about the people in my life, and how the couples I know relate. After some consideration, I think I’ve concluded that there are two kinds of relationships: passion-based & need-based. Of course, you can argue that there are combinations of the two, and I can’t disagree with that, but if [...]

Finally a Trader Joe’s off a major road near us at home! As much as I enjoy shopping at Whole Foods for organic produce, Trader Joe’s is a far better bargain, and they carry a lot of interesting items – like the whipped honey I used in a new honey sesame truffle …. mmmmmm.

I normally would scoff at any “flavored” rice pudding, but this recipe is simply too good to ignore. One of my favorite flavors is coconut … and when I have a craving – this hits the spot in a BIG way.

I’m a night owl. A night owl that gets fueled by knitting & cooking …. both of which are night time activities in my day to day life. So … I will admit, I have found a sleeping pill for when I really need a good night’s sleep after I get all wired in the [...]

I have a new found respect for test kitchens! I honestly think that test kitchen work would be the perfect day job for me. Combining cooking and data analysis - that’s my two lives now … except I would actually care about the results of a recipe test! I’ve had tasting parties in the past, but never ran a [...]

I was determined to come up with some swatches for the baby blanket last night …. and this is what I have so far. If nothing else, it shows what colors & stitches I’m using! Jay liked the wave pattern, so now I just have to figure out how many stitches I need to make a [...]

A friend of mine is having a baby in February … and I thought that it would be a nice idea to make a customized baby blanket for her. I have all the yarn (I think!) that I need to make a blanket approximately 3′ x 3′ in a seascape design. I figured that would [...]
